Hey ladies! I decided to do a second part to this topic following the previous blog post. If you haven't gotten to read the first part of the blog post, head on over to here. Hope these bless and encourage you to unleash the inner Proverbs 31 woman within you as you go forward into becoming the amazing woman of God He has called you to be!
She is a blessing to others
"She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes."
~ Proverbs 31:24
She is not selfish, she is giving. She doesn't look for who can be a blessing to her, but she looks for who she can be a blessing to. As the workers who work to supply other workers with the very things needed to make a living, she is creative and makes useful of her materials because she knows that what she is given is not just for her but for others as well.
She is a faithful servant
"She rises while it is still night to provide food for her household and portions for her maidservants." ~ Proverbs 31:15
She serves her family and others...without complaining (ouch!). She follows Jesus's example (Matthew 20:28). Whether it's small acts such as helping mom with getting the house in order, helping to teach a grandparent how to use a smartphone (and that requires a lot of patience), cooking for your siblings, etc. By having a servant's heart, she is a light in her home and to those around her. Her self-control to not complain doesn't just speak for her character but, it also speaks for God's character; that He is loving, humble, peaceful, not self seeking, patient and gracious towards us (Philippians 2:14-15).
She is a woman filled with passion
"She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night." ~ Proverbs 31:18
She doesn't compare her work with others' because she knows that her work has value and beneficial gain. Her passion is never short fused for the God given light within her is continuously burning. She is constantly seeking the Lord on how to go about the will God has for her. She depends on God for she knows that He is the source of the passion laid on her heart. She is always ready to act on the next task the Lord has for her and doesn't stop until she accomplishes her goals and the Lord's work is completed.
.
She is a woman of preparation
"When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet" ~ Proverbs 31:21
In order for her to have what the proverbs 31 woman needed in season, she had to prepare and get her house in order out of season. When seasons come she is not anxious, she does not fear, she is not running around trying to get everything together, but instead she is calm and at peace for she is prepared and knows that she has all that she needs to help her through the season.
She knows the value of money
"She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard." ~ Proverbs 31:16
She doesn't waste money, instead she puts it to good use so that it benefits her, her family, and others in need. She doesn't allow it to have control over her, instead, she is in control of her money. She manages her money accordingly for she sees the money she's earned as the fruit of her labor.
It can be hard to not splurge your money when there's so many things around you that you think you need (catch how I said you THINK you need). I understand. This is for me too. If you desire to be more manageable with your money, seek the Lord for help on how He can help you manage your money better. Look up on ways to save. Learn to be a disciplined steward with your money. Your future husband and family will thank you for your decision now to do so.
She is a woman of respect
"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her saying, many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” ~Proverbs 31:28-29
To her family and outsiders, she serves as an example of a Godly woman, one who carries herself with grace and class. Her family and friends praise her because of the good she brings to their lives. Her family praises her not only because of the good choices she makes, but because she knows the choices she makes not only affects her but her family and the one that will come after her.
The Proverbs 31 woman: She is loving and loved by others. She is patient. She is a woman of strength. She is wise in her choices. She is a faithful servant. She is a blessing to others. She is respectful. She is a good steward to what God has given and blessed her with. She is genuine and kind both in actions and words. She is a woman filled with passion to carry out the Lord's plan in her life. She is fearless. She is a God fearing woman
She is you, woman of God. I know sometimes, we may not feel like the woman that we've been called to be. There are times we slip up, causing us to think, "maybe I'm not cut out for this. Maybe I'm not meant to be a Proverbs 31 woman". But I want to leave you with this: His grace is sufficient and He will never leave you to figure it out on your own. Seek Him and He will help guide you to be the woman of God that He's called you to be to reflect His glory as you live your everyday life.
